The Rescue Squad meets on Tuesday evenings of each week. Meetings and Training are usually held at 2521 Rescue Dr. at Rescue Headquarters. For more info call 747-2532 or 202-7072
~ First Tuesday is a business meeting
~ Second Tuesday Training
~ Third Tuesday Executive Board and Committee meetings/Maintenance and Clean up
~ Forth Tuesday Training
~ Fifth Tuesday, when applicable, Maintenance and Clean-up
Requirements for membership and application;
~ Must be Eighteen (18) years old, an American Citizen, in good physical condition and be
of moral standing with an acceptable police record at the time of his/her application. ( A back ground check is conducted through SLED, including Drivers Licence)
~ High School Diploma or G.E.D.
~ A resident or reside in Charleston County, SC. A waiver of residence may be granted only by the Executive Committee.
~ An application for membership must be approved by and investigating committee
consisting of three (3) members of the squad.
~ A prospective member must attend two business meetings before he/she is eligible to apply.
Make up of membership;
~ The membership is divided into Five Squads
~ Squads, when practical, are made of geographically by membership
Squad 1 - Charleston/North Area
Squad 2 - James/Johns Island Area
Squad 3 - Easy Cooper
Squad 4 - North Area
Squad 5 - Probationary Members and not assigned to geographic area
~ Each Squad will have a Squad Leader (Captain) and an Assistance Squad Leader (Lt)
~ Specialty Squads shall be formed to suit a particular need, such as Dive Team, Marine
Team, Swiftwater/Flood Rescue Team, Large Animal Rescue Team, etc. But members will
remain in there assigned squad.
